Undergraduate Student Research Assistants (UC Irvine)
I am not accepting additional undergraduate assistants for 2024-2025.
Undergraduate students interested in becoming CHIP Lab research assistants should email a CV/resume (including current cumulative GPA) to Dr. Payán. Students should be currently enrolled at UC Irvine and have successfully completed at least one public health course (minimum B+ grade). Students who have successfully taken at least one class with Dr. Payán and are part of either the Public Health Honors or Campuswide Honors Collegium Programs are highly preferred.
Prospective Graduate Students
Please review UC Irvine’s Public Health website to learn more about the PhD and Master of Public Health (MPH) programs. The MPH program now offers two tracks relevant to CHIP Lab work, including: 1) Health Systems and Policy & 2) Community Health and Health Equity.
I am taking a sabbatical leave (2025-2026) and am not accepting new PhD students.
If interested in applying to the PhD program and joining the CHIP Lab (focus on health policy or health services research), please email Dr. Payán a recent CV/resume.
Postdoctoral Scholars
We are not recruiting new postdoctoral scholars. Other postdoctoral opportunities include the UC President’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program due Nov 1.
